1. Parabens

3. Synthetic Fragrance / Parfum
Can contain dozens of undisclosed chemicals, including allergens and hormone disruptors.
4. Talc
May be contaminated with asbestos—a known carcinogen.
5. Formaldehyde & Formaldehyde Releasers
Like DMDM Hydantoin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Diazolidinyl Urea.
Preservatives that release toxic formaldehyde over time.
6. BHA and BHT (Butylated Hydroxyanisole / Toluene)
Synthetic antioxidants used as preservatives, linked to skin irritation and hormone disruption.
7. Petrolatum / Mineral Oil
Can be contaminated with PAHs (carcinogens), and may clog pores.
8. Oxybenzone & Octinoxate
Often found in SPF makeup; linked to hormone disruption and environmental damage.
9. Carbon Black / CI 77266
Used for deep black pigments (e.g., eyeliner, mascara); linked to cancer risks in some studies.
10. Lead & Heavy Metals (especially in lipsticks)
Lead is a neurotoxin. Even trace amounts can be harmful over time.
11. Toluene
Found in some nail products and eye makeup, it impacts the nervous system.
12. PEGs (Polyethylene Glycols)
Used as thickeners; can be contaminated with carcinogenic byproducts like 1,4-dioxane.
