What is a CO2 extract?

A CO₂ extract is a type of plant extract obtained using supercritical carbon dioxide (CO₂) extraction. This method uses pressurized carbon dioxide at a specific temperature where it behaves like both a gas and a liquid. This allows CO₂ to act as a solvent, extracting delicate aromatic compounds, lipophilic (oil-soluble) components, and other beneficial plant constituents without the need for heat or chemical solvents.
